Pot growing operation seized

DINGMAN TWP. - An indoor marijuana growing operation was uncovered by PA State Police during a raid at a Pocono Woodland Lakes development residence in Dingman Township, Friday March 15th.

Cpl. Michael Carroll of Troop R Headquarters in Dunmore said that 51 marijuana plants were seized and a large crop that was apparently just harvested. Over 20 pounds of marijuana had been processed and packaged for sale that was seized, along with cocaine.

Fernando Valdez Jr., age 30, of Miami, FL, was arrested in connection with the operation and locked up in lieu of $200,000 bail. Another occupant of the residence at 128 Buckeye Lane, Paul Bolivar, also of Miami, was arrested on a felony drug warrant out of Florida.

Liquor violations

HAWLEY- PA State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement reported March 18th that a citation was filed against E&L Uzupes Enterprisess, Inc., operators of The Pines on Welwood Avenue, Hawley.

The citation was for violating the PA Liquor Code, Section 491(10)- Fortified, adulterated and/or contaminated liquor. The incident occurred Jan. 23, 2013.

BEAACH LAKE- The owner of the Big Apple, Route 652 in Beach Lake, was cited by the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement on Feb. 5, for furnishing alcoholic beverages to a minor. The owner was identified as Majakski LLC.
