  •  Habitat for Humanity of Wayne County honors long-time helper

    Habitat for Humanity of Wayne County, Pa. raised over $5,800 at the Annual Hearts and Hammers Dinner Dance held February 22nd at Ehrhardt’s Waterfront Resort;. Long-time volunteer and Board member Mary Lou Murray was honored with the Habitat for Humanity Golden Hammer Award.
    Lena Warren, President of Habitat for Humanity of Wayne County presented the award to Murray. Habitat Board member Brad Murray, CPA represented the entire Habitat Board in congratulating Murray for her dedication to Habitat’s mission and passion to make a difference in the Wayne County community she loves.
    Now, Habitat is working to build their 18th house in Wayne County for a family in need of a decent affordable home. This will be the first Habitat house in the Honesdale Borough and is on land Habitat purchased on Riverside Drive.
    Habitat is very grateful for the support of the people, organizations and businesses that share in our mission to make a difference for families in need of a decent affordable home.
