John Hanger, Democratic candidate for Governor, will make several stops in Pike County on March 28 as part of his 67 County Tour.

Election for Pennsylvania governor occurs in 2014.

Hanger said he is excited to meet people in Pike County and to hear their concerns. "I am also eager to share my solutions to the Commonwealth's current problems." As governor, Hanger said he, "will make education funding a priority, expand Medicaid, implement a comprehensive economic development strategy that focuses on job creation, develop all of Pennsylvania energy resources, including renewable energy and clean our air and water."

Hanger will attend a fundraiser at noon in Rowland; attend a "Meet and Greet," at Blooming Grove Township Building at 4 p.m. and join the Pike County Democrats for dinner at the Mt. Haven County Inn and Restaurant at 6 p.m.

The candidate is a former Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, a position he held between September 2008 and January 2011 under former Governor Edward G. Rendell. He is also a former Commissioner of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.
