LACKAWANNA  COUNTY- State Police Dunmore is seeking information about a cop impersonator on the Casey Highway, US Route 6, after an incident at 8:45 a.m., Friday, March 22.

Trooper FC Richard Bozym said that the impersonator was heading westbound in the Olyphant area. The victim was driving a 2001 Volkswagon Passat when he was stopped by a blue Chevrolet Impala with red and blue lights in the grill and inside windshield.

The operator of the Chevy was a white male dressed in blue jeans, white tee shirt and wind breaker. The male was about 5'9", black hair and with a beard. He said he was a Lackwanna County sheriff and showed some kind of badge in a case. The actor requested the victim's license and insurance information, and returned to his vehicle. The actor returned back and yelled at the victim using obscenities about his speeding and said he would get tickets in the mail.
