Frederick J. Marro, age 82, of Canadensis, died Friday evening at his residence. He was the husband of the late Shirley Ann (O'Neill) Marro who died April 22, 1992.
Born in Roemerville, Greene Township, son of the late Joseph and Lena (Olsommer) Marro, he was a life long resident of Greene Township.
Fred lived all of his life on his family's homestead in the Canadensis area. He worked 35 years as a heavy equipment operator at Mt. Airy Resort. He loved his work and was an instrumental part in the construction of the Mt. Airy Golf Course as well as many roads in the surrounding counties. Fred was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed nothing more than a sunny day sitting on the porch with his beloved dog Bear. He was a jolly soul who will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Frederick is survived by two sons Gerald C. Marro and Frederick S. (Susan) Marro; two daughters Ann Marro Brink and Susan Marro, all of Canadensis, a brother Roland (Molly) Marro and a sister Lucille J. (Frank) DeEsch both of Canadensis. Frederick was the much loved grandfather of six grandchildren: Karen Brink, Canadensis; Miles Kimball, Canadensis; Cassandra M. Marro, Canadensis and Victoria A. Marro, Canadensis. He is also survived by two great grandchildren Nicholas Klim and Nicole Klim, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister Leah Osborne and stepfather Charles F. Ruffner.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Promised Land Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Building on Route 390 Promised Land from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 6.
