Representatives from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) visited Hawley and other local governments and communities throughout Northeast Pennsylvania during a 3-day "On the Road" event March 25th, 26th, and 27th.
On Monday afternoon, March 25th DCED Secretary C. Alan Walker and Deputy Secretary Champ Holman, accompanied by DCED staff, participated in a walking tour in downtown Hawley. Hosted by Hawley Borough officials and the Downtown Hawley Partnership (DHP), the tour provided an opportunity to view first-hand some of the recent projects completed in the Borough.
It was also a chance to discuss emerging issues regarding the community, and to learn about services DCED has to assist municipalities in capitalizing on assets and plans for future projects.
Among the businesses visited by Secretary Walker were Fluff’s Deli, Teeters’ Furniture, the Ritz Theatre, and the Trading Post/Whatnots.
