Mattresses dumped; pair cited

HONESDALE - On March 30, Honesdale Borough Police cited James McCabe, 44 from Honesdale and Judy DeRoss, 53 from Honesdale for Scattering Rubbish in Honesdale Borough.

According to Borough Police, an Officer observed McCabe and DeRoss with three mattresses in the area of Turkey Hill on March 29. On March 30, an officer on patrol observed the same three mattresses dumped in a parking lot belonging to Wayne Memorial Hospital. An investigation revealed the two dumped the mattresses.

Police say heroin found

HONESDALE - On March 30, Honesdale Borough Police arrested William Swendsen, 30 from Honesdale, on a Wayne County bench warrant on Erie Street.

According to Police, Officers were given a tip that Swendsen was in the area of a car wash, where officers later found him and took him into custody. He was transported to the Wayne County Correctional Facility and lodged on the said warrant.

During the arrest officers also allegedly found heroin and drug related paraphernalia on his person. Charges to be filed for possession of a controlled substance and related charges.
