When you are born, your parents are responsible for making sure you are fed, bathed and healthy. As you grow, they try to instill in you the required knowledge to keep yourself in good condition. Then, you are all grown up and now have to be responsible for your own health. This is the funny part. Somewhere, between your parents preparing you and you being an adult, the health part gets lost. You may think you are too busy to get a physical, or get active. You may think that healthy food is too expensive. Well my friend, you need to make time, and budget wisely.

“When you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” My dad used to say this all the time. I never really understood it until I went out on my own. When you don’t plan things like workout time, doctor’s appointments, or a healthy meal, you are setting yourself up for disaster. Think about it. If you keep yourself healthy, you won’t have to schedule as many doctor appointments. If you eat a healthy diet, your body will thank you back by having plenty of energy to do the things you want to do. If you keep hydrated, you won't be so tired that you have trouble getting through the afternoon. Let me break it down another way. If your car needed gas, oil, or break fluid, would you just let it go? If your car had rust spots, would you let it rust out? Not if you wanted to get anywhere you wouldn't. Let's apply that to you. If you run out of healthy food, or water, you don't feel well due to lack of energy, making it tough to get through the day. If you don't get regular check ups, disease could be sneaking up on you and it might be too late before you realize something is wrong. Bottom line here? Wake up!! YOU are in charge of and responsible for yourself. Take advantage of this to its full capacity. Go see the doctor. Make time to workout and plan healthy meals. Schedule the time ahead. Make doctor appointments in advance. Look over your menu for the week and make a shopping list before you go to the store. Schedule your workout time and put it in your daily planner.
