Wayne County Arts Alliance is featuring a 1936 classic comedy film, "My Man Godfrey" at the Honesdale Cinema 6, Route 6 Plaza, on Sunday evening, April 21.
The film will be shown at 7:30 p.m.
One of the zaniest screwball comedies from the 30’s, "My Man Godfrey" is a treasure; a romance/comedy, witty and wickedly paced. Directed by the Oscar nominated Gregory La Cava, Carole Lombard and William Powell head a great (and nutty) supporting cast. The film is funny and has a depression era social commentary at its core. The film runs one hour, 35 minutes.
"My Man Godfrey" is the second offering in Sunday Night Cinema’s Spring series, which is entitled "Movies Not Coming to a Theater Near You" and features odd and overlooked movies that never got the reception they deserved. A donation of $5.00 per person is suggested, to help support the activities of the Arts Alliance. The film will be preceded by a short introduction and followed by a discussion.
