REGION- Due to an overabundance of caution, Lackawanna College closed its Scranton Campus as well as its four satellite centers as of 1:30 p.m., April 17, due to a threat that was made against the College that day.
"The College will remain closed for the balance of the day and no evening classes will be held. Operations are expected to resume Thursday morning at 8 a.m.," said Wendy P. Evans, Director of External Relations Lackawanna College.
She said that the threat was a post made on their main Lackawanna College facebook page, and didn't indicate a location. "In the interest of the safety of our students, faculty and staff, we took precautionary measures to close all of the Centers today," she said.
On Feb. 7, Lackawanna College Lake Region Center was shut down for the day after a student there had made a comment on facebook relating to Columbine. The matter was turned over to the State Police, with full cooperation of college officials, a statement from the college indicated after that incident.
