PAUPACK TWP. - Arbor Day is officially observed on the last Friday of April, so it’s a perfect time to celebrate. The public is welcome on a hike along Shuman Point Natural Area from 1 to 2:30 p.m., Saturday, April 27.
PPL consulting forester Paul Kowalczyk and the Wayne County Conservation District’s forest specialist, Sarah Hall, will discuss our local forest and the critters that live here. They will talk about the recent timber harvest at Shuman Point, as well as the health of the forest, invasive impacts and the local wildlife that call this forest home.
Shuman Point Natural Area is located along Route 590 on the way from Hawley towards Lakeville in Paupack Township. It is just east of Lake Shore Drive.
