HONESDALE - The Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary’s (WMHA) annual donation to the hospital topped all records with a $92,000 donation. Auxiliary President Sandra Meagher and her officers presented the gift at the Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon on April 19th at Ehrhardt’s on the Waterfront in Tafton. The proceeds were the work of more than 200 Auxiliary members, who raised the money through The Other Shop, The Other Shop II, the hospital Gift Box store and annual fundraisers such as the Mistletoe Ball and Showtime at the Ritz. Other projects included selling jewelry, books, Christmas cookies and antiques, as well as raffles, bus trips and much more.

The bulk of the check, $80,000, will benefit the Hospital’s New Beginnings’ Birthing Suites and the remaining $12,000 will be donated to Wayne Woodlands Manor, the hospital’s long-term care facility in Waymart.
