Richard John Jagger, 85, of Greeley, PA passed away at home on May 2, 2013. Mr. Jagger was a lifelong resident of Pike Co., a retired member of the PA Builders Association, a U.S. Army W.W. II veteran.
He was an active member to the local Masonic Temple for more than 50 years. The son of Mercer and Bessie (Raitt) Jagger he was born on December 20, 1927 in Port Jervis, NY. Was orphaned in 1929 and was raised by his Uncle Clyde L. Raitt. He attended grade school at Hunter’s Range and Dingman’s Ferry, High school in East Stroudsburg, PA.
He was pre-deceased by four siblings- Bertha, Mercer, Willis Berne, and Walter. Six half siblings- Lillian, Infant, Mable, Floyd, Florence, and Ambrose. And family of his mother whom he was raised with Clyde Jr., Donald, Jean, and Albert. Two wives, Margaretta (Peggy) Broadhead and Nancy White.
Survivors include two sons William Jagger (Megan Jagger), Edward Jagger. Two grandchildren, Amy Elizabeth Jagger (great-granddaughter Alana Margaretta Jagger) and Kelly Anne Jagger Cespedes (Roy Cespedes) (great grandchildren Marissa and Noah). Step Children, Amanda and family, Robert and family. Sister Ellan May Bryson of NH. Friend/Companion Mary Craig. Several generations of Nieces and Nephews.
The family will be receiving friends at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 W. Harford St. Milford, PA (www.stroyanfuneralhome.com) on May 18, 2013 from 10 to 11 a.m.
A Memorial Service will be held at Stroyan Funeral Home on May 18, 2013 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William G. Rushik, Chaplin for Wayne Memorial Hospice and Reverend at the Free Methodist Church, S. Canaan, PA officiating.
Final Interment will take place at Delaware Cemetery, Dingmans Ferry, PA and will be private and at the convenience of the family.
