  •  Man accused of stealing cancer benefit money

  • State Police, Honesdale have identified the man they accuse of stealing $4,000 raised at a dinner to help a breast cancer patient.
    According to Trooper Keith Brislin, Mark Erik Icker, 23, of Maple Acre Road, Sterling Township, broke into John's Italian Restaurant during the night of August 24-25. The burglary occurred at 12:55 a.m.
    Once inside Icker allegedly stole $4,000 that had been raised earlier that night for a Lake Ariel woman. The proceeds from the benefit were to assist the woman with medical bills after receiving a double mastectomy.
    State Police said in a report issued from their barracks May 16th that the investigation is continuing. Icker has been arrested and arraigned before District Judge Bonnie Carney.
