On May 19, 2013, after an illness, Wilma Anne Diehl, went home to be with the Lord, her husband Nicholas who preceded her in death on October 12, 2006 and her daughter Jamie who preceded her in death on September 8, 2004.

She was known by many as "Willie" at the Honesdale Remnant Shop where she worked for many years. She always had a smile, a listening ear, an encouraging word, and a helping hand for those who frequented the shop, and anyone else who crossed her path. She was an avid doll and angel collector.

She was born in Beach Lake on March 3, 1929, daughter of the late Lester and Anna Reining Rosencranse. Sisters Alice and Joyce, and brothers Loren and Roger all preceded her in death. She lived her life there and met her husband Nicholas when a young girl. They were married on March 14, 1945, after he returned from Pearl Harbor, and they were married sixty-one years.

She is survived by her daughters Jackie Mohrmann (husband Gene) of Honesdale, Jeri Hopkins (husband Paul) of Damascus, and Jan Kooistra (husband Joe) of Honesdale; sons James Diehl (wife Darlene) and Jeffrey Diehl all of Honesdale. She was blessed with 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. A sister Beth Peck of Narrowsburg, NY also survives her along with a number of nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service at New Covenant Fellowship on June 1st at 1 p.m. with a time to pay respects beginning at noon. The Reverend Robert Nurnberger will officiate.

Wilma also leaves behind her beloved dog, Petey, who was the joy of her life and her constant companion. So, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dessin Animal Shelter, or the charity of your choice.
