Bone density testing is now available at the Pike County Medical Center in Lords Valley and electrocardiograms (EKG) are now being done at the Wayne Memorial Outpatient Center in Waymart on Route 6.

Both services are enhancements to the current facilities. Wayne Memorial Hospital also offers digital mammography, x-rays and laboratory services (blood draws) at its Pike site and, at the Waymart location, x-rays and laboratory services.

"The addition of Dexa-scans or bone density studies at our Pike location brings our services for women to a new level," said Mammography Technologist Ellen Scarisbrick, "I am really pleased that we can offer both mammograms and bone density scans at one place and close to home for so many of our patients."

In the last year, Wayne Memorial has been expanding its outpatient services to include new facilities in Waymart and Forest City and adding procedures and equipment to those locations and to its Pike office in Lords Valley. X-rays, blood draws and EKG screenings are all available at the Forest City site.
