  •  Burglar steals $15K from Greeley InnPolice still looking for $7,700

  •  LACKAWAXEN TWP.- Pa. State Police Blooming Grove report the arrest of a Greeley man accused of breaking into the Greeley Inn and stealing $15,000 in cash.Joshua David Thompson, 21, of Greeley, was taken into custody May 23rd, a short time following the burglary.Between 11 p.m. May 22 and 12:30 a.m. May 23, Thompson is alleged to have broken into the establishment when it was closed. The $15,000 that was stolen was in new, crisp $100 bills that had sequential serial numbers.A short time after the burglary State Police made contact with Thompson hitch hiking on Route 6. He had a pair of brass knuckles on his person and $4,800 in new one hundred dollar bills with sequential serial numbers, police said.He was taken into custody and arraigned for Receiving Stolen Property and Prohibited Offensive Weapon. He was lodged in Pike County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.State Police later recovered another $2,500 of the stolen money. A preliminary hearing was set for May 29. Additional charges of Burglary, Criminal Trespass, Theft by Unlawful Taking and Possessing an Instrument of Crime will be added, said police.State Police are still attempting to recover $7,700 of the stolen $100 bills with sequential serial numbers.
