MILFORD- Pike County Arts and Crafts in Milford announces it's June First Sunday Art Demo.?Potter and PCAC member, Dana Drake will be demonstrating wheel thrown pottery on Sunday June 2 beginning at 1:30. She will show how it is done, explaining what the process is that turns a lump of clay into beautiful object and allow people to try their hand at it. She will also be bringing many of her finished pieces to show and sell for the afternoon.

One time banker, Dana achieved her dream of becoming an accomplished potter after studying with various teachers and working tenaciously on her own for over a decade. She has developed a style that is recognizable, well loved and all her own. Her method of altering the cylindrical form created on the wheel, offers a, solidly beautiful yet graceful and one of a kind functional pottery.

She has studied under many different potters including, Simon Leach, Susan Beecher, Lisa Orr, Sarah Jaeger, and Bill Van Gilder. Her work can be seen at Artisans Exchange on Broad St. in Milford and at the annual PCAC members show. She enjoys teaching kids to use the potters wheel and demonstrating her craft to a very curious audiences.

The public is invited to this free event to enjoy learning about the process and techniques of making art and meet Dana and the members of PCAC while enjoying refreshments. PCAC is in its 63rd year and continues to provide the regional artists opportunities to exhibit, teach and meet other artists while promoting the arts in Pike County. The event is held at the Milford Borough Hall, 109 Catherine St. Milford.?
