HONESDALE- If you won all the prizes in this year’s Honesdale Roots & Rhythm raffle, you could power your house through an electric outage, gift your fish with a 20-gal aquarium, watch your favorite band on your brand new 39-inch LED TV and strum along on your equally new Fender Starcaster electric guitar—all the while wearing a gold and diamond necklace (or watching it sparkle on your lady).
Or, you could just drop everything and go to a weekend Wildflower concert at the Dorflinger-Suydam sanctuary or, better yet, enjoy a five day stay at Alice’s Cabin in Buxton, Maine.
A chance to win any one of these seven prizes costs just $5 a ticket (or six for $25).
All were generously donated by local business owners, including Ray Harrington of R3Hardware. This is the first year Harrington has put up an item for the raffle, specifically a portable GP5500 Generac generator valued at approximately $700.
"It’s nice to be able to do something for the community," says Harrington, "and Roots and Rhythm is the community’s biggest event—and it’s free."
