On Thursday, June 27 at 11:30 a.m., American Legion Post 851 at 107 Ball Park Rd., Dingmans Ferry will serve a lunch to the wounded veterans of the Wilkes Barre VA hospital.
"There will also be bingo and other surprises for our brave veterans who made great sacrifices for the freedom all Americans cherish," said Joseph Kramar.
Richard and Sheryl Goldstein of Post 851 will be hosting this event. The Scouts will also be offering their services to make sure the veterans are comfortable and have delicious food.
"This is one of the most honorable and vital purposes of the American Legion," said Kramer. "The dedicated members of the 851 are devoted to helping disabled and wounded for life veterans."
Post 851 also gives scholarships and helps many charities including children's miracle network and children with developmental disabilities. The 851 also has ceremonies honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice for us all on Memorial Day and Veterans Day.
"The public should be aware how much we all owe to those who protect our freedom and rights," said, Kramer.
