Get ready for an old fashioned, small town celebration of America's 237th anniversary of independence. The annual 4th of July parade takes place at 12 noon on Thursday in downtown Hawley, followed by band music in Bingham Park and a carnival.

Get ready for an old fashioned, small town celebration of America's 237th anniversary of independence. The annual 4th of July parade takes place at 12 noon on Thursday in downtown Hawley, followed by band music in Bingham Park and a carnival.
The parade lines up on Maple Avenue and Church Street and begins on Main Avenue (Route 6) by the blinking light. The parade heads up Main Avenue, over the bridge to Bingham Park.
Four of the oldest family owned Hawley businesses are being recognized as Grand Marshals: Teeter's Furniture / Teeter's Funeral Chapel, Finan's Barber Shop, Murphy Insurance and A. M. Skier Insurance.
Hawley's 4th of July parade has been held each year since 1967 when it was organized by the Hawley Public Library. It was later coordinated by the Borough.

After the parade enjoy band music at Hawley's bandstand in Bingham Park. At 2 p.m., the carnival gets underway at the park.
Hours for the carnival are Tuesday July 2 and Wednesday July 3, from 6 to 9:45 p.m.; Thursday July 4, from 2 to 6 p.m.
Be sure to be back for the fireworks at Lake Wallenpapauck at about 9:15 p.m. hosted by Pocono Lake Region Chamber of Commerce. July 5th is the rain date.
