Wayne County District Attorney Janine Edwards announced Friday that Roman Grzejka, 42, of Honesdale, was arraigned before Magisterial District Justice Ronald Edwards on one count of Theft graded as a Felony of the Third Degree.
The felony theft charge was filed by Wayne County District Attorney’s Office Detective Peter Hower.
The Affidavit of Probable Cause states that Grzejka, owner and operator of “Roman’s Famous Meats and Seafood,” also operated as an independent contractor for Shortline Terminal Agency, a commercial bus line company, selling tickets for motor carrier passenger transportation.
As part of this contract, Grzejka was to submit all monies collected from the sale of such tickets to Shortline every month, minus a 10% commission. It is alleged that between Oct. 1, 2012 and Nov. 1, 2012, Grzeka sold 187 tickets and intentionally withheld $8,298.23 from Shortline.
Bail was set by Magistrate Edwards at Released on Own Recognizance.
Grzejka is scheduled to appear on these new charges at central court on July 3 at 9 a.m. at the Wayne County Courthouse.
