at the Lake Region IGA. Community members generously contributed 40 boxes of food, over $1,100 in cash and eight bags of soap during this week-long event. The food was distributed to the local food banks at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hawley, the Paupack United Methodist Church in Paupack, and the Good Cheer Pantry at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Greeley.

The cash donations, plus an additional $500 from our Rotary Club’s charitable fund, were split between the voucher programs at Queen of Peace Catholic Church and the Hawley Methodist Church.

The soap collected went to the Rotary Club of Hamlin for an international sanitation and health project.

"The Rotary Club of Hawley is grateful to Mr. Jim Shook and the staff of the Lake Region IGA for their gracious support of this effort, and to the members of our community who donated so selflessly," said Rotarian Jim Pierce.
