On the Course
Paupack Hills is an 18-hole championship course that measures nearly 6,600 yards from tee-to-green.
The course was designed by Tom Fazio. It was begun in 1966, opened for play in 1970 and total construction completed in '74.
Paupack Hills' overall course rating is 72.9 and it has a slope rating of 132 on bent grass.
The 2013 summer season began in early May with the Opening Day Tournament.
The team of Erv Kuczogi, Bill Eisenhauer, Michelle Bjorkman and Gail Savarese capture first place with a sizzling score of 55.
Runners-up were James Allen Smith, Al Rowinski, John Rochelle and Lin O'Conner with a 57.
Third place honors went to the foursome of Kevin Tennant, Carol Rowinski, James Ludt and Joey Gilchrist at 59.
Next on the agenda at Paupack Hills was the 2013 Men's Field Day, which teed off on May 16.
This annual event was won by the quartet of Gerry O'Connor, Jim Pivovar, Alan Cunningham and Andrew Rose.
Runner-up laurels went to the team of Richard Reap, Gerald Walsh, Joe Walsh and Ernie Sebastianelli.
Third place went to Gene Hickey III, Brian Hickey, Jack Judge and Chris Langan.
The end of May brought with it one of the season's most popular events: The Overboards Outing.
This year's edition of the tournament was held as a benefit for the Tafton Fire Company and attracted a stellar field of linksters.
First Flight champions were the quartet of Bill Leishear, Dave DiLuca, Phil Arasimowitz and Norm D'Agostino who combined to fire a blistering 60.
Second Flight honors went to the team of Jim Harrington, John Reide, Mike DiBattista and Steve Bromberg (68)
The foursome of Vinny Budd, Richard Glazier, Joe Hourihan and Rosario Ruffino copped the Third Flight crown (75).
Memorial Day was a big success at Paupack Hills as men and women battled it out for the tourney title.
In the end, the team of Paul Gruzeski, Bob Henkel, Lou Jerge and Anna Glazier took home top honors after posting a score of 128.
Barry Carton, Joe Hourihan, Tom Visgilio and Lin O'Connor combined for a total of 133 and finished as runners-up.
The foursome of Tom LaTournas, Kevin Tennant, Bill Eisenhauer and Lucille Siebold claimed third place at 138 on a match of cards.
Tom Rosati, Frank Fonti, Kathy Jerge and Erv Kuczogi also recorded a 138 and finished fourth.
