PALMYRA TWP. (PIKE) - The Audubon Art and Craft Festival will be held in the Wallenpaupack Area High School, Saturday and Sunday, July 20-21. This is across Route 6 from the Middle School Complex where it has been held in previous years.

Known regionally as the finest Art and Craft show in the Poconos, this non-profit event raises funds for student scholarships and environmentally threatened areas in the Northern Poconos. This year’s Festival theme, "A Sense of Wonder," honors writer and naturalist Rachel Carson, whose book Silent Spring launched the environmental movement in 1962.

There will be a wide display of nature-inspired art and crafts to purchase. Delaware Valley Raptor Center will have live raptors - hawks, owls and falcons on site. Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation Center will present live animals and an entertaining presentation on the animals and their behavior. Binghamton Zoo will bring a variety of animals, for people to observe close up, and ask the experts questions.

The Northeast PA Audubon Society will have an education table with free items for the family and a program on the NAS Forest Campaign.

The hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Admission is $5.00 per person, children 12 and under free. Park for free in the school parking lot and enjoy the show inside the air-conditioned building.
