  • A late 1800s vintage two-seater buggy used by a Wayne County family for decades will be on display at the J. B. Park Farm Museum at the Wayne County Fair from August 2nd to August 10th.
The buggy was first used by James Patrick and Alice Haggerty McKane in the 1890s and was the principal mode of transportation for the farm family, who lived on the Bethany Turnpike, eight miles north of Honesdale. Trips were made to St. Cecelia's Church at Hilltop, to Honesdale for supplies and to visit friends and family. The buggy has been preserved for over 120 years and was gifted by the McKane family to the Farm Museum of the Wayne County Historical Society. All are welcome to stop in at the Farm Museum, during fair week to view the piece of Wayne County history.
