  • A pedestrian was struck down on a cross walk on Route 6 at Lake Wallenpaupack, Sunday night August 11.

  • A pedestrian was struck down on a cross walk on Route 6 at Lake Wallenpaupack, Sunday night August 11.
    State Police, Blooming Grove said that the pedestrian, Diane Bernstel, age 56 of Paupack, was critically injured. She was flown to Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton for treatment.
    The incident occurred after 8 p.m. as she was walking north, within the cross walk in front of Greshams Steak House.
    According to State Police, the driver, Nancy Piotrowski, 50, of Beach Lake, failed to yield to the pedestrian and collided with the woman with the front passenger side of the vehicle. The driver was not hurt.
    Tafton Ambulance and Pike ALS were dispatched to the scene at 8:42 p.m. Tafton Fire Department and the rescue truck from Hawley Fire Department were also called out.
