The Upper Delaware River needs your help to give it a good cleaning. Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreation River is seeking people who would like to make a difference for the second river clean up of the summer. Everyone is invited to join Park Rangers on Saturday, August 17th as they paddle down the river plucking litter from the shoreline as well as from the river bottom.
"This is great fun for the whole family as well as for groups of friends," said Ingrid Peterec, National Park Service.
Paddlers are asked to meet at the Milanville Ranger Station in Milanville, Pennsylvania at 9:00 am on Saturday, August 17th, 2013. The National Park Service will provide the vehicle shuttle, canoes, lifejackets, and paddles. We will be carrying out this activity rain or shine! You should expect to get wet, so please be prepared with the appropriate gear including extra clothing, proper footwear, lunch, plenty of water, a hat, and sun screen.
This year's river clean-up is limited to the first 20 who register. For more information or to sign up for the Summer Paddle and River Clean-Up, please call Park Ranger Brandon Diefenbach at (570)685-4871 by Friday, August 16.
