The Pike County Commissioners on August 7th thanked Jack Bishop upon his retirement, for his, "proud appreciation of distinguished service." Commissioner Matthew Osterberg read a resolution telling of Bishop's work as an employee of the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry as a Disabled Veterans Outreach Program representative for 12 years.
A Vietnam veteran, Bishop served with the 101st airborne and now, Osterberg said he serves veterans by providing, "invaluable assistance," with federal employment application process and outreach activities through area organizations. Noting Bishop's years of helping others, Osterberg spoke for the commissioners by thanking him for, "his contribution to our veterans, our youth and all individuals seeking education employment."
