A suspect in a home burglary was stopped near the Dingman's Ferry toll bridge Thursday August 22, with his car loaded with items reported stolen.
State Police Blooming Grove report that the burglary took place between 9 a.m. and noon that day, at a residence at 104 Port Drive, Pocono Mountain Lake Estates, Delaware Township.
Items taken were a flat screen television, a stereo receiver, wallets, watches, cell phones, television remote controls, a camera, a computer router, a Kindle Fire electronic notebook, a Dell laptop computer, a Fender guitar and case, miscellaneous jewelry and $1,100 in cash.
Trooper Carl Ives said that a traffic stop was conducted near the toll bridge at approximately 12:30 p.m. The driver, Phillip Brown, 23, of Brick, NJ, was subsequently arrested for DUI and possession of a controlled substance. Inside the 1999 GMC Yukon were the items that had been taken from the residence, said police.
Brown was also arrested for Burglary, Theft and Receiving Stolen Property. He was arraigned before District Judge Stephen McBride and remanded to Pike County Correctional Facility in lieu of posting $50,000 bail.
