This Sunday from 2 to 3 p.m. stop in at the Wayne County Historical Society (located at 810 Main Street) in downtown Honesdale for a free presentation with a puzzling twist. Janet J. & Roldan Fuller made a fascinating discovery; two large wooden puzzles. Come hear the tale and see how they found the puzzles; which have a connection to the museum's history as well. One of the puzzles is an advertisement from the City Coal Company who rented the other half of the Historical Society's current building at one point.
Interim Director Franziska Zuercher will also be on hand to explain what she discovered while looking into these puzzles. It is thought that the puzzles were privately made, using calendar pictures which were a popular give-away for companies in days gone by. If you love a good mystery you won't want to miss this Sunday at the Museum, said Society officials.
Next Sunday, September 22 local business owner, Jeff Hiller will be on hand with an exciting Back to School Treasure Hunt. September 29th Nicolas Spinelli will present on The Delaware and Hudson Canal and the Roebling Aqueduct. For more information please go to waynehistorypa.org/, call the museum 253-3240 or e-mail Franziska Zuercher firstname.lastname@example.org.
