HONESDALE - B&B Dodge of Honesdale broke groundWednesday, September 18 to build a new showroom. The construction project is a direct result of the company’s being awarded both Chrysler and Jeep franchises. The expansion will allow not only for the sale of Jeep and Chrysler products, but also the sale of Dodge Rams 4500 and 5500 series and will provide a business link for outfitting truck customers with cabs and chassis.

B&B Dodge, which derives its name from original owners, Bob McKinnell and Bill Malti, was purchased in 1970 by Robert and John F. Carmody and is still run as a family-owned business. Today the dealership employs 32 people, who all were on hand for the groundbreaking ceremony. Owners John F. Carmody, Stephen M. Carmody and Stephen J. Carmody were joined by family, friends and business associates for the groundbreaking, along with members of Chrysler’s management team.

The new 6,300-square-foot building will have a four-car showroom with several sales offices, a service counter and a cashier, as well as a lounge, café and a children’ waiting area. A car port will allow customers to exit their vehicles without getting wet in the rain.

Completion of construction is anticipated for March 2014.

B&B Dodge already has begun placing orders for Chryslers and Jeeps and expects delivery within four to six weeks. By the end of October, the company hopes to have both new lines available on their lot.

The new name of the dealership has not yet been announced.

B&B Dodge is located on Grandview Avenue (Route 6) Honesdale.
