The Bushkill Outreach, a local food pantry, was forced to close last week due to their location within the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. State Representative Rosemary Brown (R-189th District) reported that a temporary location has been found. The federal government has mandated the closure of national parks and any buildings located within the parks with the shutdown of the federal government. Brown stated, "With the hard work and dedication of Kate and her volunteers at the Bushkill Outreach, a temporary home has been established." The pantry will be temporarily located at the Bushkill Reformed Church, 5969 Milford Road, East Stroudsburg, starting Tuesday, Oct. 8, and continuing on Wednesday, Oct. 9, and Thursday, Oct. 10, from 1-3 p.m. More information will be available at the church on future hours. Clients who had appointments scheduled for last week are welcome to come this week. Bushkill Outreach is a Pennsylvania state registered food pantry serving people in need in Middle Smithfield and Lehman Townships.
