On Saturday, October 19th, The Cooperage Project invites new and soon-to-be parents to spend two hours with Linda Bartels, experienced educator and therapist. During the parenting workshop, Bartels will share her thoughts about the challenges of parenting and in the process identify specific strategies that will help new and soon-to-be parents.
Bartels will address a range of topics that include: creative ways to encourage young ones and teens to eat healthfully, strategies to increase a teen’s self reliance, thoughtful approaches to discipline and other important issues and concerns.
Linda Bartels has a Bachelor Degrees in English and Theater, a Master’s Degree in Psychology and certification in Cognitive Behavior Therapy. She has years of teaching experience as a high school teacher, a Montessori elementary education assistant and a psychology instructor at several colleges. She has offered classes in Continuing Education to professionals and has been a guest speaker at state psychology conferences. For over 10 years, she has worked as a therapist counseling children, teens and families.
The workshop is from 10:00am to noon, on Saturday, October 19th at The Cooperage, 1030 Main Street, Honesdale. Suggested donation is $20, however no one will be turned away. Registration is required, please call (570) 253-2020 to reserve a seat.
