Robert George Jufer, age 72 of Honesdale has pled guilty to one 1st degree felony count of Voluntary Manslaughter, in connection with the shooting death of his wife on October 17, 2010, in Cherry Ridge Township.
The plea was entered October 24th in Wayne County Court before Judge Raymond Hamill.
He also pled guilty to one count of Tampering With or Fabricating Physical Evidence, graded as a misdemeanor of the 2nd degree.
Jufer could also be fined $25,000 for voluntary manslaughter and a $5,000 for tampering with evidence. He also agreed to "pay all costs of prosecution, payment of all laboratory user fees, if any, make full restitution, if appropriate."
He is scheduled to be sentenced on January 2, 2014.
The defendant was arrested in February and arraigned for one count of criminal homicide and was taken to the Wayne County Prison. Jufer was given no bail since it was a murder.
