PIKE & WAYNE - Pennsylvania residents who have unwanted prescriptions and other medications in the home can have them properly discarded during the National Take Back Initiative on Saturday, October 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., reported State Rep. Mike Peifer (R-139th).

Drop-off collection sites will be located at PA State Police barracks in the Pocono region. These include the Honesdale barracks at 14 Collan Park, just off Route 191 about four mile south of Honesdale and the Blooming Grove barracks, located at 434 Route 402, south of Route 6 and north of the Blooming Grove exit of I-84.

They may also be dropped off at the Swiftwater barracks at 113 Enforcer Lane and the Pocono Summit barracks at 2454 Route 940.

The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient and responsible means of disposing prescription drugs. At the same time, the general public can be educated about the potential for abuse of medications.
