The WNEP Feed-A-Friend Campaign has begun. The 28th year, WNEP-TV, Pepsi-Cola and the community has collected and distributed food to needy families in the local community. All of the money and food collected in Wayne County stays in Wayne County to help support local food pantries. There will be donation bottles, sponsored by Pepsi, and barrels marked "Feed-A-Friend" from mid-October throughout November. The barrels are for non-perishable items.
Barrels are placed at AAA North Penn, Cordaro’s, Curves, Dime Bank (branches in Damascus, Hawley and Honesdale), Dr. Orehek’s office, Elegante’s, Gretchen’s Grotto, Hair Jam (in Waymart), the Hawley Senior Center, Hawley Karate, Highland Physicians, Honesdale National Bank (branches in Honesdale, Hamlin and Hawley), Hairway to Heaven (in Hawley), Lake Region IGA (located near Settlers Inn and at 52 Wellwood Ave.), Ray’s Shur Save, Shaffers Hardware, Sneaker King (in Honesdale), Sunrise Market, Dave’s Super Duper, Tri County Beverage, Turkey Hill (in Honesdale), the Waymart Hotel, Wayne Memorial Hospital (outpatient waiting area and emergency dept. waiting area), Western Wayne School, YMCA (in Honesdale), Brook Chapman Daycare, Stourbridge and Mane Creations, as well as many other local businesses.
