  • 'Warmth in the Night' emergency shelter needs helpers

  • HONESDALE- Grace Episcopal Church for the fourth year offers "Warmth in the Night" - a free, safe, no-obligation emergency shelter.
    "It’s certainly not a Hilton Hotel," notes Fr. Ed Erb, rector of Grace Church and initiator of the shelter. "But it is a safe and warm place, with plenty of food and fellowship."
    Nonetheless, there are some needs. Volunteers.
    Warmth in the Night is the only emergency shelter offered in Wayne and Pike Counties. Fr. Erb said that those in need need your help. The facilities and supplies are all provided; they simply need volunteers willing to spend one night a week.
    An organizational and training meeting will be held for new volunteers on Monday, November 11th at 5:30 p.m. Supper will be provided to demonstrate the simple provisions offered on a typical evening.
    Grace Episcopal Parish Hall is located at 827 Church Street, less than a half block from the park.
