-The V. Rev. John D. Sorochka, pastor of St. John’s Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Mayfield, and the parishioners have announced the dates for the Annual Christmas Bazaar.
The three day event will take place on Nov. 8, 9 and 10 at the Parish Center on Hill Street, Mayfield. Hours for the Bazaar are as follows:
Friday, Nov. 8 and Saturday, Nov. 9, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 10, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This three day affair always provides a unique and pleasant atmosphere to purchase unusual gifts for your holiday needs.
Many crafters & vendors sell their products at St. John’s Center where stands are located on both the upper and lower levels of the facility.
St. John’s Gift Shop offers many imported gifts from Russia, Greece and the Holy Land including Matroshka (Nesting Dolls) Dolls, Samovars, Amber Jewelry, Ornaments, Olive Wood Manger Sets, Table Coverings, Pysanky, Icons, Books and much more.
The Gift Shop is located in the lower level of St. John’s Center, as well as Baba’s Basement – a favorite stop for those who enjoy finding “real treasures” of years gone by.
Other crafters and vendors include jewelry, art work, household products, candles, and much more.
On Friday, the menu includes St. John’s famous homemade pirogie, halushki (cabbage & noodles), clam chowder, pizza, fish dinners, fish sandwiches, grilled shrimp Caesar salad and more.
On Saturday and Sunday the menu is more extensive featuring Friday’s menu along with homemade halupki (cabbage rolls), served individually or as a dinner, homemade chicken marsala dinners, homemade city chicken dinners, gyros, sausage & pepper sandwiches, barbecue pork sandwiches, meatball subs, grilled chicken Caesar salad, soup and other items.
The public is cordially invited to attend the three day bazaar.
