Gertrude Mae Pfahler, age 86, a 30-year resident of Greeley died Thursday, November 14, 2013, at Milford Senior Care Center, Milford.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert L. Pfahler, in 2001. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Martin Kolaya, in 1969 and her second husband, Robert Tosoloski, in 1980.
Born June 24, 1927, in Palisades Park, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Theodore G. and Anna Mae (Ridgeway) Wragge. Formerly of Bergenfield, NJ, she worked as an expeditor for F.L. Smidth and Company in Dumont, NJ, until her retirement in 1983. She had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Tenafly, NJ, when she lived in New Jersey. Gertrude loved gardening and flowers, especially planting flowers to attract hummingbirds. She enjoyed listening to country music and was a great fan of Patsy Cline. In addition, she liked to play cards with her family and friends.
She is survived by three sons: Martin Jay Kolaya and his wife Linda of Leonia, NJ, Donald Robert Kolaya and his wife Anne Marie of Brick, NJ, and Theodore Jeffery Kolaya and his wife Gayle of Leonia, NJ; four grandchildren: Ashley Kolaya, Paris Caruolo, Thomas Caruolo and Emily Kolaya; and her step-children: Linda, Patricia, Christine and Sandy Tosoloski, Hubert W. Pfahler Jr., and Lynn Pfahler.
Calling hours will be Sunday, November 24, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Teeters’ East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. There will be a Memorial Service following at 2:00 p.m. At the funeral home. Private cremation will be held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
