Fell Twp. Board of Supervisors will hold its regular monthly meeting tonight, on Monday, Dec. 2.
Last month, the supervisors unanimously approved a plan for the City of Carbondale to take over police services in the township. Carbondale City Council has since approved the proposal as well, although a final contract is still being negotiated and has yet to be signed.
Fell Twp. board chairman Ron Cosklo stated that contracted police services would include six specific areas of coverage — traffic, parking, nuisance issues, 24-hour patrols, 911 calls, and court appearances — and the plan is expected to go into effect in January.
The issue may come up for discussion once again at tonight's meeting, which is set for 7 p.m. in the township building.
Supervisors' regular meetings are held on the first Monday of each month, or on the first Tuesday if that Monday falls on a holiday.
