The Chamber Gallery, located in the Greater Carbondale Chamber of Commerce Building at 27 N. Main Street, will be offering a full complement of activities to enhance the holiday experience every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. throughout the Christmas Season.
Included amongst the festivities is the fascinating exhibit "The Wonder of Doll House Miniatures", in coordination with the "Minis of Northeastern, Pa.; the continuing gallery exhibition featuring the work of 6 area artists exploring their individual views of the Upper Valley entitled "The Enduring Valley-Our Home"; and "The Christmas Shoppe", a fundraiser for the gallery, which hosts a talented group of local artisans and craftsmen offering their wares at very affordable prices with a portion of the proceeds donated to The Chamber Gallery.
The Chamber Gallery will also be participating in the city event "Christmas in a Small Town" on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with caroling provided by Carbondale's own a cappella singing group, "Classic Voices."
The popular "Photo Fun Booth" will also be set up in the gallery for "instant photos" by R, Landmesser along with the "Christmas Shoppe" and the doll house miniature exhibit. Free hot chocolate and treats will be served within the beautifully decorated gallery space.
Featured artists in the "Christmas Shoppe" will be, Dianne Borrelli, whose craft line is called "Joyful Souls" finds inspiration in her Catholic faith, and specializes in small decoupage wooden plagues of the Saints.
In addition, Dianne will have her handcrafted tree ornaments and paintings utilizing coffee grounds available.
On a lighter side, as a grandmother, she has made "picture rocks" for her grandchildren to their delight, and now includes them in her craft series which are especially "great stocking stuffers."
Judy Marsh, gifted photographer, whose work appears in the current gallery show, is a multi-faceted artist who also fashions earrings from old buttons and discarded jewelry, into new "wearable art", and also possesses a reverence for nature in her collection of "petal paintings" and nature subject notecards, all created in her "Signus Natus" studio in South Gibson.
Katy Pelak, a resident of Mayfield, brings her life-long love of crocheting to new a new level with her incredible doll creations which spring directly from her own imagination and fantasy. Each will turn the heart and bring a smile of appreciation. Stockings and ornaments will complete her offerings.
Additional participants include, Eli Marsh, an assemblage artist, of "Off Beat Plaques" utilizing old automobile emblems, and Helen Landmesser and Connie Herzog, a mother and daughter duo, supplying their handcrafted ornaments and Christmas stockings.
R. Landmesser and Steve Lanzy, photographers will have small packaged prints and large framed prints available for sale.
Ruthanne Jones, fine art photographer, will offer her "Notecards of Carbondale Collection" including Christmas cards with all the proceeds from the sale of her cards donated to The Chamber Gallery.
