PROMISED LAND-Pennsylvania State Parks will be participating in the third nationwide First Day Hike program on Jan., 1st from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The program is an effort to promote a healthy beginning to 2014.
People are invited to join Promised Land State Park volunteers Ann Foster and Judy Arrison for the Park’s first day hike. The hike will be easy to moderate and is appropriate for all ages. People should dress in layers, bring water and wear sturdy footwear. If there is enough snow (6" or more), it will be a snowshoe hike. A limited amount of snowshoes are available for loan. If not, we’ll explore on foot. The program will be cancelled if weather is inclement.
Pre-registration is suggested and required if you need to borrow snowshoes. Please email
PromisedLandsp@pa.gov or call 570-676-3428 x0 to register. Make sure to let hike organizers know how many people are attending and if snowshoes will need to borrowed. They hike is free and people should meet at the park office porch.
