  • Aviation charity to show film about Haiti

  • Archangel Airborne will honor the memory of those who died during the tragic 2010 Haitian Earthquake with a public screening of the documentary film Flight of the Archangels at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 11th, at the non-profit's airfield headquarters at Cherry Ridge Airport near Honesdale.
    Archangel Airborne's Founder, Stuart Hirsch, and over 30 of the organizations aviation, medical and supporting volunteers will be on hand to view the thirty-minute documentary film which chronicles the group's fifth aid mission to the island nation. Flight of the Archangels was financed and produced by the independent production company 3 Lion Films. The documentary will be officially released later this year for submission to film festivals in Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey.
    Since the 2010 earthquake, Mr. Hirsch and Archangel Airborne's volunteers have flown eight aid missions to Haiti delivering five tons of medical equipment to regional hospitals and to rural providing free medical care to over 6,000 residents in impoverished communities.
    The film will be shown in TML Aircraft Hangar #2 at Cherry Ridge Airport. The entrance to the airport is off the Owego Turnpike, just south of Route 191.
    Archangel Airborne is a not for profit 501 (c) (3) organization of aviators, clinicians and multidisciplinary specialists whose mission is to provide medical, logistical and consultative support to areas in need of re-stabilization.
