State Police at Dunmore asked for information from the public about a collision on Interstate 84. A man from Hawley was uninjured in the crash, whose vehicle was struck by another that kept going without stopping.
The crash occurred Thursday Jan. 23rd at 4:23 p.m. Philip M. Orenstein of Hawley was traveling in the left lane of the eastbound lanes through Roaring Brook Township, Lackawanna County. An unknown vehicle struck the Toyota Corrola he was operating. This caused Orenstein to lose control of the Toyota. The unknown vehicle went off the interstate and hit a snow-covered embankment, but the driver failed to stop and left the scene in the vehicle.
Trooper Richard Bozym said that a witness observed a tan-colored vehicle, possibly a SUV, strike the Toyota and leave the scene. No injuries were reported and seat belts were in use.
