  • Two women wanted on Escape charges

  • Pike County District Attorney Ray Tonkin is seeking the arrest two women who have absconded from court furloughs authorizing their release from jail. The Pike County Detective Bureau obtained warrants of arrest for the charge of Escape for each woman.

  • Pike County District Attorney Ray Tonkin is seeking the arrest two women who have absconded from court furloughs authorizing their release from jail. The Pike County Detective Bureau obtained warrants of arrest for the charge of Escape for each woman.
    The Pike County Detective Bureau filed a criminal complaint charging1 Correna Stomes, age 47, with a last known address of Shohola, PA, with the crime of Escape, a felony, for failing to return to the Pike County Jail after she absconded from a rehabilitation facility.  According to the complaint, Stormes was furloughed from a four to 12 month sentence in the Pike County Jail for Obstructing Administration of Law on February 14, 2014. On February 17, 2014, it was reported that Stormes left the rehabilitation facility. She has not returned to custody as required by court order.
    Another criminal complaint was filed by the Pike County Detective Bureau charging Celeste Schafer, age 22, with a last known address in Hawley, PA, with the crime of Escape, a felony, after she left a rehabilitation facility and has failed to return to the Pike County Jail. According to the complaint, Schafer was furloughed from a three to 23 1/2 month sentence in the Pike County Jail for two counts of Receiving Stolen Property on September 5, 2013. On December 3, 2013, it was reported that Schafer violated the conditions of the rehabilitation facility after testing positive for Suboxone and contraband found in her room. She has not returned to custody as required by court order.
