PIKE COUNTY - Pike Autism Support Services of NEPA (PASS) has joined the Pike County Chamber of Commerce to promote autism awareness.
PASS was formed in 1996 by parents of families whose lives had been touched by autism spectrum disorders. Together, they found strength in each other to face the daunting challenge before them.
The mission of the Pike Autism Support Services is to: empower, support and educate families and friends of individuals with autism spectrum disorders by assisting and encouraging parents to be informed participants in their child's education and be effective advocates on their behalf. PASS is
dedicated to provide support in addressing the social and emotional needs of family members who have been affected by autism and they are committed to educating the community regarding autism spectrum disorders by raising public, professional and governmental awareness of the challenges families'
face in the hopes that persons with autism may lead more fulfilling and independent lives.
PASS meets at 7 p.m. on the third Wednesday of the month, normally at the Biondo Community Room, 221 Broad Street, Milford - confirm location on their website. For further information about
