  •  Children at B.V.M. Queen of Peace Parish acted in skits during a Lenten Mass with Father Richard W. Beck, Sunday, March 16th.
Doreen Tascone, Faith Formation Director, said, “We have at our parish approximately every other month a Youth Mass where the children do the Mass with Father Beck but this lent we decided to something special.”
She and Deacon Matthew Lorent, and other volunteers assisted the children, who are part of the Faith Formation Program.
At the time of the homily Father Beck proceeded to tell everyone that the children from grades Kindergarten to Eighth where going to help him show the connection of three of the miracles of Jesus to lent.  The children were then broken up into grades K-2, 3-5 and 6-8 to do three skits.
K-2 did a puppet show explaining the miracle called “A man born blind” from John 9:1.  Then grades 3-4-5 did the miracle called, “The miracle at Cana” from John 2:1-11.  The final skit was grades 6-7-8 doing the miracle called, “Jesus walks on water” from Matthew 14:22-33.  Children read the stories while other children set up props, acted out the parts and or did special effects.   They also have two choirs, one for grades K-2 and one for grades 3-8.  Many children participated in singing for the Mass.
