MobilePRO, a tuxedo rental and sales as well as dry cleaning business, is opening this week two doors from the Hawley Silk Mill.
Dan and Jeanette Hinton are the owners of the business. Dan stated that he will run MobilePRO Cleaners, while his wife continues to operate their successful wedding entertainment venture known as JAM Music Productions.
Hinton worked 12 years for a similar company in Middletown, NY and most recently had a tuxedo and dry cleaning business in Scranton. The Hintons live near Moscow, PA.
What makes their business unique, Hinton said, is free pickup and delivery.
They presently have two vans and hope to add a third, as business grows. He said they operates in 11 counties of northeastern Pennsylvania where they will actually drive to the customer's house.
In the case of a prospective groom, he said MobilePRO will come to the home and meet him and the other males making up the bridal party. MobilePRO will take the measurements, and then deliver the tuxedos, and pick them back up afterwards.
Not only that, Hinton said, they offer the groom a free tux, the rig bearer's tux at half price and $45 off each additional tux.
Need to drop off shirts, a gown or an Oriental rug to be dry cleaned? Hinton said his company will come and get it and deliver it back to the customer.
He remarked that people's lives are so busy; in the case of hectic wedding plans, the groom normally would need to make three trips to the tuxedo shop.  "Everybody rushes around to get it all done," he said. "We try to help get one thing off their plate."
Offering convenience also applies to anyone having dry cleaning to be done, finding it a hassle to have to go to the shop.
Hinton said they also offer cleaning and storage of furs- kept in a secure vault at another location. They can also arrange for tailoring and alterations, and can even contract to have a suit custom made.
They are fully bonded and insured, he added.
He is starting out with two employees, and may be adding a couple more. Hinton commented, "I thank God everyday that my business is growing."
It was only last July that he started the business in Scranton, and said, "in less than a year it exploded."
With their certificate of occupancy in hand, Hinton said he is eager to begin business in Hawley, with the proms coming up. Spring wedding season is also about to start. A grand opening at MobilePRO is set for this Wednesday, April 16. Their address is 216 Welwood Ave., Hawley.
He is renting the facility owned by Mark James next door to Timely Treasures on Route 6, which James had considered making into a pet crematory. James stated that renovations for the needs of a crematory proved to be more than expected. Instead, James said he has received his permit to operate the pet service at Lake Ariel, in a new building next to his human cremation facility.
James said that the Hinton's new tuxedo and dry cleaning business meets a need in the community and will be a great asset. James was actually one of Dan Hinton's customers, and in conversation, Hinton heard that the location in Hawley was available.
