MILFORD - Pike County District Attorney Ray Tonkin announced the sentencing of a man who molested a minor he enticed over the internet.  Frank Bianco, age 39, of Tannersville, PA, was sentenced in Pike County Court on Thursday April 3, 2014, for up to 10 years after pleading guilty to the charge of Aggravated Indecent Assault.
After an investigation by the Pike County Detective Bureau, Bianco was charged in December 2012 with molesting a then 14 year old female at a hotel in Westfall Township in 2011.  The investigation began in 2012 after the Pike County District Attorney’s Office received information from the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office that Bianco had been communication with minors online.
The investigation in Pike County determined that Bianco had met a 14 year old female from Pike County in an online chat room.  Bianco then enticed the minor to meet him at a hotel.  Once at the hotel, Bianco rented a room listing the occupants as an adult and a child.  In the hotel room Bianco molested the minor.
Bianco was sentenced to serve three to 10 years in a state prison.  He was designated a sexually violent predator under Pennsylvania Megan’s Law and will have to register his address and place of employment with the Pennsylvania State Police for the rest of his life.  Bianco had previously been sentenced to a term of three to six years in Monroe County, after the initial investigation by the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office.  His sentence in Pike County is to run consecutive to the sentence in Monroe County for a total sentence of six to 16 years.
District Attorney Tonkin encouraged all parents to monitor the sites that their children visit on the internet.
Tonkin also thanked the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office, the Newton, New Jersey Police Department and the Pennsylvania State Police for their assistance in this investigation.
